Artist Statement: Chalk pastel portrait of Tupac Shakur surrounded by an uplifting quote from his hit song. Chalk pastel on pavement/digital.  My artistic style is modern and predominately realistic, incorporating techniques from the illustrative and graphic arts. I enjoy pairing well-rendered forms with flat or abstract design elements, and my use of color is bold and saturated. Whether representing people, animals, or a still life, my goal is always to capture the essence of my subjects in a way that is both accurate and emotive.
