Artist: Emily Burriss
Artist Statement: The white moth on a black background was created using a scratchboard, ink and an exacto knife. Many believe the white moth can often be seen as a sign of transformation and new beginnings, encouraging you to embrace change. As an artist living in Black Mountain, NC. I've seen firsthand the impact of Hurricane Helene and I hope that through Art4Hope: Asheville we can uplift and support our fellow artists as they work towards rebuilding their lives.
